Internal threats refers to threats such as:

  • Fire
  • Unstable power supply
  • Power cuts
  • Humidity or dust in the hardware rooms
  • ...

To tackle those problems companies can use extinguishers that do not use water in case of a fire. Implement an uninterruptible power supply that clean the power supply from spikes and levelling surges. For the humidity it is common for the hardware rooms to require conditionning but also dust cleaning.


External threats refers to threats such as:

  • Lightning
  • Floods
  • Earthquakes
  • ...


Human threats are for example:

  • Theft
  • Vandalism
  • Accidental error
  • Intentional error

Locked doors and restricted access to computer rooms can prevent some of the human threats.
